All Hallows Guild: Flower Mart
All Hallows Guild has sponsored this popular two-day festival since 1939. Plants, herbs, foods, puppet shows, carousel rides, boutiques and entertainment are offered on the Cathedral close on Friday and Saturday, the first full weekend in May. Each year one of Washington’s embassies is honored. Flower Mart 2009 is scheduled for Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2. Check back for more details as the dates approach.
Flower Mart is recognized throughout the metropolitan area as Washington’s premier spring outdoor event. See information on the attractions which were featured at Flower Mart 2008, this year celebrating the Cathedral Centennial and the Republic of South Africa. 1890s Carousel
Our century-old carousel, now on the National Register of Historic Places, is a favorite of young and old. Lovingly restored, each hand-painted animal is a work of art with special significance. The carousel is operated once a year at Flower Mart in the spring.
